Getting Started
Starting therapy can bring up a lot—curiosity, hope, uncertainty, maybe even a little dread.
This page covers the practical details so you know what to expect.

INITIAL CONSULTATION
I offer a free 20–30 minute consultation. This is a chance for us to:
-
meet each other
-
get a feel for the space
-
talk about what you’re looking for
-
see if this feels like a good fit

Finding the right therapist matters. Whether that’s me or someone else, I’m happy to help you think through what you’re looking for. If it doesn’t feel like a fit, I can offer referrals to other practitioners.

Your First Session
Your first session is an introduction—not an assessment.
You don’t need to:
-
tell your whole story
-
know exactly what you want
-
or “do therapy right”
We’ll start by slowing things down. We will talk about what brings you in, but we’ll also pay attention to how it feels to be in the room together—because therapy happens through relationship, not just information.

You’re always in charge of:
-
what you share
-
how fast we go
-
whether something feels right

Where we meet
Sessions take place in person in Tacoma, WA.

We meet in a light-filled cottage surrounded by a small urban garden—a space designed to support grounding, creativity, and ease.

Many people find that simply being in the space helps them slow down and settle.

Session length and rates
Rates
60-minute session: $165
90-minute session: $225

A note about session length
I work in a way that allows time to slow down, notice, and follow what’s actually happening—not just talk about it.

For some people, 60 minutes is a good rhythm.
Longer sessions are available when it feels helpful to have more space.
We can figure out together what works best for you. There’s no pressure to choose one format over another—we can adjust as we go

Policies
CANCELLATIONS
If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for 24 hours notice.
Late cancellations or missed sessions are typically charged the full session fee.
PAYMENT
I accept credit, debit, and HSA/FSA cards.
Payment is due at the time of session.
INSURANCE
I currently operate as a private-pay practice.
Depending on your plan, you may be able to use out-of-network benefits for reimbursement. I can provide a superbill if that’s helpful.

Let's start there.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before starting. You just need a place to begin.
